Zeolite NaX Mass and Propeller Agitator Speed Impact on Copper Ions Sorption

چکیده

Sorption is often carried out in stirred batch reactors without any consideration of how much mixing sufficient to avoid the effect diffusion compromising yield and cost due overmixing. Therefore, focus this work was study maximum sorption capacity, removal efficiency, kinetics power consumption (P) studied process are affected by different speeds, i.e., impeller speed/minimum speed for complete suspension (N/NJS) ratio values zeolite mass concentrations. Experiments were conducted a baffled reactor with propeller at standard off-bottom clearance. In addition experimental studies, numerical modelling approaches investigate using transient multiphase computational fluid dynamics model fitting selected kinetic models. The results show that an increase leads slight NJS consequently PJS. affects velocities, consumption, kinetics, final amount efficiency copper sorbed. experimentally determined data fit Ritchie’s well. However, two experiments, performed N/NJS ratios 0.8 0.6, Mixed fits better, suggesting second-order reaction suppressed diffusion. Due influence diffusion, decreased from 59.377% 54.486% 46.372% respectively.

Sorption of Cu(II) Ions on Chitosan-Zeolite X Composites: Impact of Gelling and Drying Conditions.

Chitosan-zeolite Na-X composite beads with open porosity and different zeolite contents were prepared by an encapsulation method. Preparation conditions had to be optimised in order to stabilize the zeolite network during the polysaccharide gelling process. Composites and pure reference components were characterized using X-ray diffraction (XRD); scanning electron microscopy (SEM); N₂ adsorptio...

Evidence for Subdomains in Large Crystals of NaX Zeolite

1. Introduction Pulsed Field Gradient (PFG) NMR has proved to be a valuable tool to probe the intracrystalline diffusion of molecules adsorbed in microporous materials [1]. It is well-known that the purely intracrystalline diffusivity D intra can only be attained, if the root mean square (rms) displacement of the molecules during the observation time is much smaller than the diameter of the cry...

Copper Sorption Mechanisms On Smectites

Due to the importance of clay minerals in metal sorption, many studies have attempted to derive mechanistic models that describe adsorption processes. These models often include several different types of adsorption sites, including permanent charge sites and silanol and aluminol functional groups on the edges of clay minerals. To provide a basis for development of adsorption models it is criti...

Sorption of Lead (II) Ions on Activated Coconut Husk

Background: In recent years, various toxic chemicals/compounds have been widely detected at dangerous levels in drinking water in many parts of the world posing a variety of serious health risks to human beings. One of these toxic chemicals is lead, so this paper aimed to evaluate of efficiency coconut husk as cheap adsorbent for removal lead under different conditions. Methods: In the sprin...

Effect of waterborne copper oxide nanoparticles and copper ions on guppy (Poecilia reticulata): Bioaccumulation and histopathology

The aim of the present study was to investigate the effect of copper oxide nanoparticles (CuO-NPs) and copper ions (Cu++) on guppy (Poecilia reticulata), in order to assess Cu uptake in the gill, and histopathology of gill and intestinal organs in semi-static regimes for 10 days. Guppy fish were assigned into three groups; one control group, and two experimental groups receiving 20 µg/l of eith...
